How are AA holiday parks quality rated?

Quality Standards

We assess and rate accommodation under a set of quality standards agreed by the UK tourist authorities – Quality Standards are the basis for the inspections that take place.

Holiday Parks Star Rating

Ranging from 3 to 5, star ratings denote the standard of quality and variety of facilities for holiday parks.

★ ★ ★ These parks are of a good standard with well-maintained facilities, and grounds and buildings kept in good condition. You can expect to find good attention to customer care and security. All legislation and paperwork will be in good order and emergency notices must be prominently displayed. Good toilet facilities should be provided with appropriate amenities and all shower cubicles should be clearly signposted and fitted with amenities. You can expect to find clear pre-arrival and arrival information on the facilities provided on the site.

★ ★ ★ ★ At 4 star parks, you can expect a high-quality site with well-maintained facilities and very good customer care. In addition to the previous requirements, 50% of non-seasonal touring pitches should have electric hook-up, and all in-use shower and toilet facilities should be heated as appropriate to the season. You can expect to find a dry changing area within the shower cubicle in all showers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5 star holiday parks are of an extremely high standard, with excellent facilities and customer care. Some of the following additional items may also be expected: wired WIFI, coffee machines, dishwashers, hot tubs, patio heaters, drying rooms, licensed bars, children’s play areas, laundrettes etc.
