How are AA glamping sites quality rated?
Quality Standards
We assess and rate accommodation under a set of quality standards agreed by the UK tourist authorities – Quality Standards are the basis for the inspections that take place.
Glamping Sites Star Rating
Ranging from 3 to 5, star ratings denote the standard of quality and variety of facilities for glamping sites.
★ ★ ★ These sites are of a good standard with well-maintained facilities and grounds and buildings kept in good condition. You can expect to find good attention to customer care and security. Roads and paths are evenly surfaced, and units should provide suitable lighting. Units will have some basic heating and beds will have mattresses, ideally with provision of bedding and linen. Decent, modern or modernised toilet blocks will provide modern shower cubicles, (preferably with doors) free hot water, mirrors, shelves, hooks, hairdryers and other amenities specified.
★ ★ ★ ★ You can expect a high-quality glamping site with well-maintained facilities. All bedding and linen are provided, and good, heated toilets and shower facilities can be expected. There should be heating in all units, and a good space between glamping units. There will be a good quality shop on site, roads and tracks will be of good standard and well lit, and a good range of outdoor amenities should be offered, such as tables, chairs and fire pits. A warden should be available and good security should be provided with lockable gates or CCTV.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5 star glamping sites are of an extremely high standard, set in attractive surroundings with mature landscaping. Facilities, security and customer care are exceptional. You can expect to find very high-quality, well-equipped toilet and washing facilities, and units will be spacious, private and have a fully equipped cooking area to cater to all guests. At many 5 star glamping sites you will find a well-equipped shop, a heated swimming pool, and a café, restaurant and/or bar.

This accreditation level involves a full inspection, testing all services to ensure minimum quality standards are met, but with no star rating awarded.
